Cricket lover disappointed

Ranchi: From next week, Cricket World Cup is going on. People are also thrilled to see the performance of not only India but also other teams. Alam is that this time cricket fans of Ranchi will have to be either disappointed or have to loose their pockets. This is happening due to the arbitrariness of cable companies. Without the permission of the district administration, cable companies have started off the channel and started the package.

Earlier, where customers were able to see all the channels up to Rs 150, now they will have to pay 300 rupees every month for such channels. The district administration is also not paying attention to this. Only action is being taken, but so far no meeting has been done with cable companies. The representatives of cable companies are not even present in the meeting called by the administration. Yet the administration is slowing down. TRAI has given all the rights related to it to the local administration. Still, outside cable companies are making their arbitrariness in Jharkhand. Manthan, GTPL and Dane are all out of Jharkhand who have served cable services in Ranchi. Local cable operators are also troubled by their arbitrarily with the customers.

Package systems are not applicable in most cities

During the digitization of cable channels, the process was started in 38 cities of the country, including Ranchi in the second phase. Most of these cities do not have the package system implemented yet. Wherever it has started, it has been done with the permission of the district administration. In Jharkhand, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad were also digitized in the same time, people were not being forced to package.

No effect on administration

Consumers of the capital are troubled by the arbitrariness of the cable companies coming out, but the local administration has no meaning at all. Ranchi SDO Amit Kumar had said that the package was not implemented and the channel was not stopped, but the cable companies did not accept the same things. Even after their order, the information cable channels are not only being shut down, people are also being forced to package. SDO had spoken of action, but so far the common consumer action is waiting. Sports lovers are particularly disappointed with the administration's attitude.

Are not showing Free channels

According to the rules of government, free channels are not being shown to the people. Broadcasting of Doordarshan channels has also been closed. This includes DD One, Lok Sabha TV, Rajya Sabha TV etc.

Apply package, missing feature

When analog-to-digital connections were made by cable operators, customers were told that there would be many advantages. It will have a package system similar to the DTH connection. The channels which customers would like to see, the money must be paid for that amount. HD channels will also be started. There will be tollfree number for complaint. It will be fixed in 12 hours after the connection becomes bad, but none of these has been implemented yet. Two to two and a half million channels are being served to the audience, but 80 per cent of these channels are not seen by them. Similarly, the HD channel does not even have a stereo channel yet.
